As Jacob and his team returned from overseas in early 2018, Dropzone Tactical was born. As a way to better prepare our communities, we wanted to teach people how to be their own protectors. During our time in the military we discovered there are people who lack the knowledge and skills to really become an effective force for positive change. So at Dropzone Tactical we offer proven training for all experience levels. The goal of our work is to make you better, but more importantly, safer.

The training we offer isn't about checking boxes; instead, it's about preparing you for the worst case scenarios you might encounter in the real world. Anyone who is willing to learn with us is welcome, regardless of their experience with weapons.

Meet The Team
Jacob Zamora
Founder & Lead Firearms Instructor
Jacob Zamora is a devout man of faith, driven by his strong connection to God. He dedicated four years of his life to serving in the US Army as a Field Artillery Paratrooper, where he had the privilege of receiving training under the guidance of a skilled Green Beret. During his time in the military, Jacob completed a demanding Combat Tour in Afghanistan, showcasing his courage and commitment to protecting others.
In 2019, Jacob made the transition from military service to civilian life. Motivated by his passion for firearms and the desire to share his expertise, he pursued certification as a Firearms Instructor through the National Rifle Association (NRA). Concurrently, he embarked on a career in Private Security, specializing in various areas such as Armored Vehicle Transport, Unarmed Security, Armed Security, and Executive Protection.
Presently, Jacob is fully devoted to his role as a Full-Time Firearms Instructor at Dropzone Tactical. Through his instruction, he imparts valuable knowledge and skills to those seeking to enhance their proficiency with firearms, emphasizing safety and responsible gun ownership. In addition, Jacob has another company called Natural Selection Enterprises
Jacob's dedication to continuous growth and professional development is evident through the numerous certifications he has acquired. Among these certifications are First Responders Carry Instructor (TX), Private Security Level 3 Instructor, NRA Basic Pistol, NRA Basic Rifle, NRA CCW, License To Carry Instructor (TX), Combat Life Saver, and CPR/First Aid/AED. These qualifications highlight Jacob's commitment to being well-equipped and knowledgeable in a range of essential areas.
As a man of faith and an experienced military veteran, Jacob Zamora exemplifies unwavering integrity and a profound sense of duty. His unwavering dedication to his craft, combined with his deep-rooted spiritual beliefs, make him an exceptional instructor and a role model within his community. Through his instruction and business endeavors, Jacob seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of others, empowering them to pursue their goals and prioritize safety and well-being.

Thomas Tsui
Pistol Instructor & Range Safety Officer
Thomas Tsui is a firearms instructor with Dropzone Tactical. He brings to the team 21 years of combined military and civilian law enforcement service to his community and country. Thomas began his military career as a Combat Engineer, and later went onto re-class to Military Police for the Virginia Army National Guard.
During his military career, Thomas participated in 2 deployments: Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Iraqi Freedom. For Noble Eagle, he led efforts conducting a force protection mission for The Pentagon and two army bases within the Military District of Washington, D.C. During Iraqi Freedom, Thomas was the assistant convoy commander where he worked on compiling intelligence, planning and execution of missions for convoy escort teams that operated in a large portion of Iraq.
Other notable military experience includes protective services work and entry breaching (explosive, mechanical, etc.) Thomas has also trained with the US Army Marksmanship Unit and shot competitively in state and national competitions.
Thomas’ civilian law enforcement career includes two local law enforcement agencies: Arlington County Police Department in Virginia, and Travis County Sheriff’s Office in Texas. In Arlington, Thomas was a patrol officer with additional brief assignments to investigative units and joint operation task forces. At Travis County, he served a brief period as a corrections officer before going to work in the private sector as a consultant, and later a project manager.
Thomas holds numerous NRA certifications, as well as being a certified LTC instructor in the state of Texas. His experience in training others spans a multitude of personnel with various backgrounds within the military, local law enforcement, and civilians.
Additionally, Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University, and is a certified Project Management Professional.
